Warm Up 3/21

The most important news story I heard during spring break was about a shooting. Three kids got shot and one died at the hospital. The shooting happened at this party that was trying to be like "Project X" the movie. I found about this over facebook; a friend of mine posted a video from a news website onto his wall for people to watch. It captured my attention because I had heard of people in my classes that went, so I realized that it could have been anyone that got shot.

This is a video that will inform you on how to request to see your dean. It is a simple four step process.

Warm Up 2/27/12

Ergonomics is the science of designing user interaction with equipment and workplaces to fit the user. In other words, it is designing equipment that works for the user appropriately like a chair with support for the back. We need to be concerned with ergonomics when using a computer because it is to create greater productivity and keep you injury-free.

Warm Up 2/6/12

Sound is important in our lives because it is what helps us to communicate with the rest of the world. It helps you to hear people's personalities as well. ( sarcasm, attitude, and exaggeration) Powerpoints could benefit from sound so that as pictures are going by you could do a recording explaining them. Then, you wouldn't have to read small texts and look at pictures in such a short amount of time. If I could listen to anything in the world, I would listen to something calming and soothing like a waterfall.

Warm Up 1/31/12

If I could go anywhere in the world on vacation, I would go back to Kauai, Hawaii. I've been to pretty much all other places I would want to go to. Kauai was my favorite vacation spot because the beaches are so pretty and it is so relaxing there. The locals are so friendly to tourists. And, there is a ton of fun things to do like surf, sail, lay out at the beach, helicopter rides, parasail, and all sorts of other things. I am actually going in July this summer.

Class Collage

This is the photo collage assignment I did. It is a collage of everyone in my class with their groups. I used the soft airbrush and drew lines going everywhere with different colors. Then, I put a filter on the brushstrokes which made black go around every color.It was called " Sumi-e" On top of that I put a radial blur. Then, I made black boxes for the pictures to go on top of for a border. I put all of the pictures in next. Lastly, I made the text have a drop shadow, bevel and emboss, and contour to make the text stand out. I set the blending mode as luminosity.

warm up 1/24/12

Next Tuesday is our January "Dress for Success" day. It is important for high school students to learn how to dress in a professional manner before they graduate and start applying for jobs. Once you graduate there isn't going to be anyone to teach you how to dress when you need to dress in a professional manner. You will have interviews, important meetings, and lots of other things where you will need to know how to dress appropriately. This is why it is very important to learn how in highschool.

Warm Up 1/18/12

"What are the three most important things that an 8th grader needs to know before they come to high school?"

1. One of the most important things that an 8th grader needs to know before they come to highschool would be to make a good first impression on your teachers and dean. That first impression is what will make or break you in their class.
2. Another important thing they should know is to try and get to know your teachers and dean. Once you are cool with your dean, they will be more willing to help you throughout highschool for different things.
3. You should also get all of your required classes out of the way before you take any extra electives, so that you can have an easy senior year and be able to focus on applying to colleges. Otherwise, you are going to be super stressed out.

How could I use a wiki for a class I am taking other than Digital Media?

If you were in a science, english, or history class and wanted to have a page for all of the things you learned about, you could use a wiki. You could post different topics and define and write about them and your friends in your class could peer edit them to make sure they are okay to be posted. Before a big test, you could go over your wikis and your friends' wikis to study the information you learned in that class.
